About Us

Claire Auplat is Professor of Innovation and strategy at Novancia Business School Paris. Her research explores the co-evolution of innovation and institutional processes.  She is particularly interested in the connections between entrepreneurial dynamics and increasing awareness of environmental issues in innovation-intensive sectors. She has worked on institutional change and the emergence of new industries and practices in the field of nanotechnologies for the last decade, firstly at Rice University (US), then at Sciences Po’s Chair of sustainable development (F) and at Imperial College business school (UK), and now at the SERENADE LABEX in France. Her current research includes studies of the influence of eco-design on the emergence of new markets for products based on nanomaterials. This research is part of a broader interest for eco-design as a new form of institutional entrepreneurship, which is based on the integration of the values of sustainable development, and which shapes the institutional framework of new forms of business development. Claire Auplat received a PhD in Innovation Management from Imperial College Business School in the UK and a Doctorate in Policy and Institutions from the Sorbonne University in Paris, France. She is a member of the French Research Council (ANR) specialist committee on eco-innovation (ECOTECH).
